In Their Own Words
Bangkok, Thailand · Sunset Bay Sail
"We booked the sunset sail for an anniversary trip and it was genuinely one of the better decisions we made that holiday. The timing is good — you get the coast in the afternoon light, and the anchorage at the end feels calm in a way that's hard to find onshore. The snacks were a nice touch rather than an afterthought."

Chiang Mai, Thailand · Day Charter
"We had four people and weren't sure what to expect from a private day charter. The crew sorted the itinerary based on what we told them we wanted — some snorkeling, a beach stop, nothing too rushed. The lunch was better than I expected for a boat. Worth it if you have the time."

Sydney, Australia · Extended Voyage
"Five days on the Extended Voyage — the crew managed everything and left us to enjoy the trip. The overnight anchorages were the standout part. We ended up in spots I don't think we would have found on our own. Cabin was comfortable, food was genuinely good. The only thing I'd say is that it helped to know what kind of pace we wanted before we set off."

Hamburg, Germany · Day Charter
"Good experience overall. We had six people including two kids and the crew were patient with the pace changes that come with that. The snorkeling spot was well chosen. The only minor thing was a slight delay at departure — nothing serious, just something to mention. Would come back for the Sunset Sail on our next visit."

Tokyo, Japan · Sunset Bay Sail
"I came with a small group of friends and we weren't completely sure a three-hour charter would be enough. It was. The route gives you a real sense of the coastline and the bay at the end is quite something when the light is right. The crew were friendly without being intrusive, which is a balance I appreciate."

Milan, Italy · Extended Voyage
"I travel fairly often and have chartered boats in a few different countries. What distinguishes Tidecraft is the quality of the communication before the trip — they were clear about what to expect, honest about the sea conditions during that time of year, and didn't oversell anything. The voyage itself delivered what was discussed. Hard to ask for more than that."

A Few Longer Stories
Family · Day Charter
The Situation
A family of five — including children aged 7 and 10 — wanted a full day on the water that worked for everyone, not just the adults.
What Was Done
The crew adjusted the itinerary to include a shallow snorkeling site with good visibility and a beach where the kids could play. Lunch timing was moved earlier to fit the children's rhythm.
How It Went
The family completed the full eight hours without any issues. Both children managed the snorkeling with crew guidance. The parents noted that the day felt relaxed despite the group size.
"Better than the resort pool, honestly."
Anniversary · Sunset Bay Sail
The Situation
A couple celebrating a significant anniversary who wanted something memorable but not overly produced. They were staying nearby for four nights.
What Was Done
Siriporn arranged the charter on a weekday evening for fewer other boats on the water. A small addition of local flowers and a particular wine the guests had mentioned was arranged in advance.
How It Went
The couple stayed for the full three hours and asked to remain at anchor for an extra half hour, which the crew accommodated. They rated the experience five stars and wrote an unprompted note of thanks.
"The crew remembered things we mentioned weeks earlier."
Small Group · Extended Voyage
The Situation
Four travel writers from Europe looking for an authentic multi-day sailing route for a feature on the Gulf of Thailand coast — somewhere that went beyond the standard tourist stops.
What Was Done
Captain Prawit planned a four-day route through a marine park passage that included overnight anchorages rarely used by commercial operators. The team was given space to photograph and write without interruption.
How It Went
The group completed the voyage and the feature was published in a European travel publication in early 2025. Tidecraft received two further enquiries directly as a result.
"Knowing these waters as well as they do is half the product."
